Strengthening of the Legal Department capacity of Togo

EKWA performed the following legal services for the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development in Lomé, Togo:

  • Strengthening the loans and financing operation categorization and the roles and level of responsibilities of each division of the Bank involved in the project cycle
  • Determining the procedures relating to the provision and monitoring of the Bank financial guarantees in the light of OHADA guarantee rules
  • Defining training modules and self-evaluation procedures
  • Determination of the procedures relating to the structuring and monitoring of financial guarantees with regard to project finance transactions
  • Identification and categorization of risks in connection with the financing of PPP projects in infrastructure (transport sector among others) and agribusiness development in the ECOWAS region
  • Definition of PPP risk identification, preventive and mitigation procedures to be used by the legal department
